We’ve got big plans for New Zealand’s future.

We offer an exciting and challenging range of career opportunities for talented people who want to make a positive difference in the lives of others.

Working differently to achieve change

The issues we are facing are complex. We know we won’t achieve change by focusing simply on the regulations, controls or the operations of government. Instead, we are shaping a platform that will enable change to happen.

We are working with our partners to develop and set our strategy. It’s our job to provide our partners with tools, levers, investment and information they need, including partnering with Māori to ensure iwi, hapū and whānau have full enjoyment of their land.

Because the better we work together, the more we’ll get done.

Can you bring what we need?

By joining HUD you’ll be part of an organisation that is tackling one of the country’s biggest challenges and providing solutions for growing our urban centres and communities, to improve the wellbeing of all New Zealanders.

We’ve got a big job to do. We need people who can bring new thinking and strong leadership across a range of different areas, including policy, funding, corporate and support-related roles.

You’ll be keen to learn and develop, and ready to put your energy into finding opportunities and solving complex issues. You’ll enjoy working with others and naturally find connections with how your work fits into achieving our outcomes.

We’re looking for people who aren’t afraid of change – we’re looking for fresh approaches and ideas from people who want to make a difference.

What do we bring?

It’s not every day you get the chance to be part of a new Ministry and way of thinking, so don’t be surprised to come across opportunities you hadn’t even thought about.

We’re still growing as an organisation, so you’ll be able to start building your skills and gaining new experiences from the get-go.
