Te Tūāpapa Kura Kāinga - Ministry of Housing and Urban Development works to deliver more public housing, transitional housing, and services to tackle homelessness in New Zealand. We also monitor community housing providers.
To do this, we partner with Kāinga Ora – Homes and Communities, community housing providers, developers, social services, councils and other agencies.
-
Increasing public housing
We fund and partner in initiatives across the housing sector to deliver more public and transitional housing.
-
Addressing homelessness
Warm, dry, and secure housing along with the right support services helps people build better lives. Our housing and support initiatives, including Housing First, aim to help end homelessness and help people to stay safely housed.
-
Partner with us
We partner with organisations that provide housing and support services for people experiencing or at risk of experiencing homelessness.
