Land for Housing Programme
The Land for Housing programme acquires vacant or under-utilised Crown and private land that’s suitable for residential development.
Land for Housing is active throughout Aotearoa New Zealand, working in collaboration with iwi and private developers to increase housing supply through the construction of a mix of affordable, public and market-priced homes.
This fund is not currently open.
Supports Māori and other partners to deliver mixed-housing developments that include affordable, open market and public housing. The Programme can help with early-stage development opportunities and working capital. The Programme purchases Crown or private land makes it available for development, then once the development is completed, sells the land to the developer on a deferred payment basis.
