- Māori housing
Tēna koutou katoa,
Kei ngā maunga whakahī, kei ngā wai whakaika, kei ngā pou herenga waka o tēnā iwi, o tēnā hapū, o tēnā whānau, huri noa i te motu. Koinei ko te tai o whakamānawa e papaki kau atu nei, tēnā tātau i ngā ākinga katoa o te wā nei.
The Ministry of Housing and Urban Development is extending the timeframe for applicants to develop their proposals to the He Taupua fund. We have extended the closing date for He Taupua applications by one month to Monday, 2 November 2020, 5:00pm.
It has come to our attention that more time is needed for applicants to develop their proposals to the He Taupua fund. We understand that COVID-19 and the impacts for whānau has increased workloads for many applicants. We acknowledge and thank Te Matapihi for bringing this matter to our attention.
We remain committed to supporting successful projects that build capability and attend to homelessness, in alignment with the Māori and Iwi Housing Innovation Framework for Action (MAIHI).
All applications must be submitted using this re-formatted application form and returned to us by the extended deadline of Monday, 2 November by 5:00pm by email to the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development at MAIHIFund@hud.govt.nz
Heoi anō, kei aku rangatira, e tukuna atu ana tēnei i runga i te whakaaro nui ki te kaupapa e paihere nei i a tātau.
Noho ora mai, i roto i ngā manaakitanga
The He Taupua fund

He Taupua (the fund) will contribute to successful applications that seek to support the implementation of MAIHI by strengthening the delivery of kaupapa Māori approaches and building the capability of whānau and Ahuwhenua Trusts, hapū, iwi, and registered Māori housing providers.
A total fund of $3 million is available for 2020/2021 (FYE 30 June 2021 to invest in initiatives that provide support to whānau facing housing insecurity and/or experiencing homelessness. Applications for He Taupua funding will be up to a maximum of $500,000 (GST excl.).
