Hamilton Housing Accord
The Hamilton Housing Accord was signed in December 2016.
About the Accord
The Housing Accord and Special Housing Areas legislation enables the streamlining of new housing developments, and allows special housing areas to be designated under accords between the Government and Council.
The Hamilton Housing Accord set targets and priority actions to increase the immediate and longer-term supply of land, and therefore improve housing affordability in Hamilton.
It aims to maintain a well-functioning, private sector-led housing market in Hamilton.
Hamilton's first SHA, Jebson Place, was established in April 2018
