First Home Loan
Getting together a large enough deposit to buy a home can be a big barrier for first home buyers. On this page you can find out about the First Home Loan which can help eligible first-time buyers with a low-deposit home loan.
The First Home Loan reduces the deposit requirement to 5 per cent for eligible first home buyers.
Please note that Kāinga Ora – Homes and Communities is no longer accepting new applications for First Home Grants.
Applicants with existing approvals can still access the First Home Grant, and pre-approvals will still be valid for six-months from the application approval date.
