The Community Housing Regulatory Authority (CHRA) welcomes the findings of the KPMG CHRA assessment, March 2020 and the opportunity to reflect and improve on our function as the Authority for Community Housing Providers.

The  KPMG CHRA assessment, March 2020 report is now available.

In October 2019, the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development contracted consultants KPMG to conduct an external review of CHRA’s operations.

This was timely because it had been three years since any similar review. It was also appropriate to consider how well the regulatory process was working for CHRA in the new setting of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development.

To inform the report, KPMG reviewed CHRA’s internal processes and documents, and engaged with the CHRA team and some key HUD and sector stakeholders.

The information gathered from the review has informed a 31-page report including 10 recommendations for potential improvement.

The report has made a number of recommendations that CHRA has already begun to address and will work with the sector and stakeholders as required to inform the work.
