The Local Innovation and Partnership Fund which supports Māori providers, hapū, iwi, community organisations, not for profit organisations and wider community partners to work together on innovative solutions to homelessness in their area is now open.

The Aotearoa/New Zealand Homelessness Action Plan set up earlier this year has made $16.6 million available for the Fund over a three-year period.

This Fund is open to partnerships of two or more local providers or organisations. Applications must be made by the lead organisation of a partnership. The partnership must be made up of two or more organisations with an interest in responding to homelessness. Wider community partners can also apply, but not as the lead organisation (these include organisations such as local councils, universities, research institutes, Police, District Health Boards and other government departments).

This Fund is not targeting housing supply such as land, building, new builds or leases.

The first funding round is open now and closes at 5:00pm on 16 October, 2020.
