New dashboard opens up property and sales trends across New Zealand

Our new Property and Sales Statistics dashboard makes it easier to explore housing market trends across New Zealand.

The dashboard brings together property sales statistics in one place, making it easier for our people and the public to explore how prices and sales volumes are changing over time. It includes data across New Zealand, regions, Territorial Authorities and Auckland Local Boards.

This first release includes median and compositional sales statistics back to 1980, with more features and data to be added over time based on feedback.

The dashboard supports our goal of making housing data easier to access and use. It provides reliable, consistent information to help build a shared understanding of what’s happening in the housing market and support better decision-making.

It’s designed for a wide range of users, including government, councils, researchers, media, and the public. Data can also be downloaded for further analysis.
