Homelessness response extended to six additional locations

The Government is boosting short-term homelessness response support services in Tauranga, Whakatāne, New Plymouth, Napier, Waimakariri and Whanganui, while also extending funding for effective initiatives in Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch and Hamilton.

The latest report indicates that homelessness is still a challenge across the country. It indicates the drivers of homelessness are complex and overlapping, including family and relationship breakdowns, financial stress, addiction and challenges with mental health.
