  1. Precisely what are the eligibility criteria currently in force for individuals and whānau to obtain transitional housing? Please include all financial, social, health, and other thresholds or considerations.
  2. By what objective methodology does the Ministry prioritise applications for transitional housing — especially for those in urgent need (e.g. families with children, victims of domestic violence, people with disabilities)?
  3. Provide a full, region by region breakdown of:
    1. the total number of transitional housing units the Government has committed to nationwide,
    2. the number currently occupied,
    3. the number presently vacant,
    4. the number of pending applications waiting to be housed, and how long (on average and maximum) those applications have been waiting.
  4. What is the current average and median waiting time from application to allocation of transitional housing? Provide a breakdown for different applicant categories (single adults, couples, families with children, Māori, Pasifika, individuals with disabilities, etc.).
  5. What wrap around supports are provided to transitional housing tenants, including but not limited to case management, social services, health support, mental health, counselling, employment/benefit assistance, cultural support for Māori and Pasifika, and reintegration planning? Please provide numbers of tenants receiving each type of support and how support is allocated.
  6. Detail the application process step by step. What documentation is required? What assessments are undertaken? Which agency(es) manage applications and allocations? Are there means tests or social needs assessments — and if so, exactly what is assessed and who performs the assessment?
  7. What safeguards are in place to ensure equitable access for Māori, Pasifika, and other marginalised communities — to prevent systemic bias or disproportionate exclusion? Please include data on the proportion of transitional housing allocations to these communities over
