Our annual report for 2024/25 was released yesterday. It provides an overview of what we worked on over the last financial year, highlights our achievements and details our performance and financial information.

Some highlights include our:

  • progress with Going for Housing Growth, the Government’s plan to tackle Aotearoa New Zealand’s ongoing housing shortage by supporting more houses to be built, improve housing affordability and increase the supply of land for housing inside and outside of urban areas
  • continued work to support the delivery of new social housing and transitional housing
  • progress in legislative and regulatory changes for the Retirement Villages Act 2003 and the Residential Tenancies Act 1986
  • new approach to social housing and housing investment
  • new residential development underwrite, which aims to help maintain capacity in the construction sector and support housing supply for when buyers return to the market. The underwrite acts as the pre-sales needed for experienced and proven developers to secure bank finance for consented, costed and ready-to-begin projects
  • role in supporting and overseeing the implementation of the turnaround plan for Kainga Ora.
